The ever beautiful Serena Reyes stands in front of a Classic Wrestling interview backdrop looking stunning in a pair of form fitting black pants and a bright blue blouse. A microphone in her hand, she smiles brightly into the camera.
“Hello, Classic Wrestling fans! Serena Ryder here with a few words from one of the newest additions to Classic Wrestling’s roster. He’s coming off of a big win in the opening match of Capital Clash over Derek Miracle, using the Long Arm of the Law to his benefit. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m talking about none other than SGT. Justice, and it seems he may be bringing friends for this interview…”
SGT Justice enters from the right, as four teenagers walk in behind The Sarge and Serena. She flashes them a smile and a wave before turning her attention back to Justice.
“…Sarge, who have you brought along with you today? This is a little unexpected, but I’m definitely interested, both about your friends, and about your game plan for your upcoming match against Ricky Broadway.”
“Well, Serena,” he smiles at her as he motions to the youths, “these fine gentlemen here are from Horizon Science Academy here in Cleveland, and despite its reputation as an underperforming school, this group of young men have collectively found a way to achieve greater things by using their love of urban music to focus their minds. See, they want to make a difference, just like I do here in Classic Wrestling; they also are a part of the afterschool program I’ve been running at Horizon to help kids recognize their hidden talents.”
“So then, what is their hidden talent? I’m dying to find out!” Serena looks into the camera inquisitively.
Suddenly, the unmistakable sounds of well practiced and catchy beatboxing starts up from the youths, SGT Justice seems to get in the groove and reaches for Serena’s microphone – she hands it to him and looks on with a smile.
“Yeah. This track goes out to Ricky Broadway…you can call this “Hidden Talent.” Just a friendly message in a language you might understand and appreciate.”
“When you step between them ropes,
And you feel that lump in yo’ throat,
No need to fear ’cause when The Sarge draws near you know you gonna sing a new note,”
“Justice ain’t a word that you know,
All you drugged lounge singers feelin’ low,
SGT. Justice on the team keepin’ kidlets’ minds pristine, and he’s gonna keep yo’ dubs at an Oh,”
Two of the beatboxers go back and forth, mixing in a well known chorus resulting in a beautiful transition:
“E’erybody in the crowd cheerin’ Justice, E’erybody in the crowd cheerin’ Justice,”
“Classic Wrestling’s got The Sarge on the scene,
An’ the inside of them cell blocks ain’t green,
When the grapplin’ is done and yo’ brain is feelin’ numb, man you gonna wanna eat some protein. Flat on yo’ back with yo’ eyesight goin’ black, an’ the Long Arm of the Law around yo’ throat.”
The beatboxing stops and Jon Ustice’s head dips as he crosses his arms over his chest sharply, Serena Ryder continues awkwardly dancing for a moment before realizing it and reaches for the microphone. SGT Justice tips his hat and hands it to her with a smile before turning around for a brief celebration with the boys.
“SGT Justice, that was AMAZING,” Serena coos, “I guess you have a hidden talent too!”
As he turns back around, she holds the mic for him as he looks directly into the camera.
“Ricky Broadway, I’m not about to underestimate you despite your…less than impressive record, no. Instead I look at what I can learn, and what teachable moments can come from our encounter. It’s my job to serve the community, Ricky…and that’s what I’m gonna do by telling you two things…”
“And what are those two things, Sarge,” Serena questions excitedly.
“Number one,” Justice holds up a finger to stress his point,”leave the song parodies to Weird Al Yankovic.”
The youths chortle and high five each other while patting SGT Justice’s back and shoulders, Serena maintains professionalism as she waits for The Sarge to continue.
“Number two, you’ll fight the law…but when we step into that ring, the law will most definitely win.”
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Serena exclaims, “SGT Justice with some strong words for Ricky Broadway before their upcoming matchup! Who will win? Tune in to Classic Wrestling Episode 17 this coming Monday to find out!”
