Rules
Hate Speech- Any member caught using hate speech (racism, sexism, homophobia, abuse, etc.) will be kicked and possibly banned. This includes the mention of it in your Roleplays, OOC, and/or outside of the fed.
Code of Conduct- We’re all adults and we expect everyone to act that way. No bullying, abuse, or disregard for personal feelings.
Ultraviolent/Illegal Acts – Classic Wrestling takes place on “Cable Television” and will be held to typical television standards. There will be no ultraviolent hardcore matches in Classic, nor mutilation, severe injury, or death of any character involved in the fed.
KAYFABE – Classic Wrestling takes place in a world where Kayfabe was never broken. Therefore Kayfabe is in full effect in all appearances of your character. They should NEVER be Out of Character or breaking Kayfabe for any reason. Wrestlers caught breaking kayfabe, the 4th wall, or calling out handlers explicitly will be fired.
Original Characters Only- We are an original character only fed. We will not accept applications based on real life wrestlers. (No Kurt Angles, Hulk Hogans, Iron Shieks) You can handle a singles character, or a tag team, but not both.
Roleplay Style – We are a biweekly micro roleplay fed. 750 Word limit. Singles matches will be 1v1 Roleplay. The judge will determine a winner based on the strength of your promos. Tag Matches will be 2 v 2 with each member of a tag team submitting 1 roleplay per match.
Word Limits – Classic Wrestling has a 750 word limit on roleplays. This is a HARD CAP. If you exceed the cap by a single word you will be disqualified. Part of the challenge is fitting the message into less space. Championships may have their own specific word limits. Word count is determined by the word counter on the site.
Communication- If you need time off, don’t want to be booked, or will be generally unavailable. Talk to a member of staff and make it known. We want open lines of communication between staff and talent. We appreciate knowing when you can and cannot write!
Allocation – Theme songs, Finishers, will be allocated to a single handler. In regards to music, the artist will also be single handler exclusive unless part of a tag team. We don’t want multiple wrestlers using the same or similar moves as well, so these will be reserved on a first come first serve basis.
Deadlines – The deadline will be posted in a place where all can access it. Since we are a single roleplay fed, there is not a soft deadline. The deadline will be a hard one, so again if you post a minute late, you will be disqualified. Post early to avoid any issues. There will be a 15 minute editing window, where you can edit an RP without penalty after posting; as long as the deadline has not expired.
Number of Characters- Each handler will be limited to one single wrestler, or one tag team. The demand of Classic has been enough that we’ve already neared a full roster prior to opening. We want to keep this fun for everyone and not bog down the roster with secondary characters.
Roleplay Scoring/Feedback – Unlike other feds that break down a roleplay based on a series of catagories and scores, we’re going to keep it simple here. What are we looking for in roleplays? Entertainment and Trash talk. We will read both competitor’s RPs and select the better one to win. While we will not be scoring the RPs numerically we plan on providing quick feedback on the RPs from a member of the staff. All matches will be judged by a 3 person panel
Matchwriting- Writing matches will never be mandatory in Classic for handlers. The staff will be writing summary style matches for the television shows, and writing longer form matches for PPVs. You can certainly volunteer to help with match writing, but it’s not expected
Dual Champions- As of opening we will only have two championships. We will not allow a single handler to hold both championships. If by some way a person ends up as a double champion, they will be asked to vacate one of the titles. This applies to all singes and tag titles as well.
Champions Rematch Clause- We don’t do it here. It’s not a part of our world. Don’t ask for it as part of “your contract”.
Intergender Wrestling- There is no issue with male or female characters in Classic Wrestling, or their fighting one another. That said, keeping with the spirit of Classic being fully kayfabe we may reserve the right to make sure this can be done believably and within the kayfabe parameters before accepting any characters. We’re not going to see a 5’9″ character powerbomb a 7’0″ Character in Classic Wrestling. We tend to lean towards realism in that regard.
No Show Policy- Two strike rule is in effect. If you no show once your character will lose their match and we will discuss what happened with the handler. If you no show twice, your character will lose again and we will remove you from the roster.
Permissions – Do not use characters that are not your own without permission from the handler who owns it. This is in relation to appearances in roleplays, segments, and anything on camera.
Plagiarism- This is a writing hobby, this should be the “Unwritten rule”. Don’t steal someone else’s work or recycle previous works. If caught it’s cause for immediate dismissal.
Final Say- Final say comes down to the Staff. If at any point there is confusion on any of the rules bring it to the staff and we will resolve any confusion.
