[Howley]: … Shujin Yama retains here tonight at In Your Haunted House! Talk about scary! Who wants to go up against that guy!?
As Howley says this, “Bamboleo” by the Gipsy Kings blasts through the Gund Arena. The crowd erupts and rises to their feet as Carlos Ruiz – dressed in leather pants, crocodile-skin shoes, and an open button-down shirt – comes out from the back. He soaks in the cheers as he peers through his Maui Jims and smiles. Shujin Yama is in the ring clutching the Premier American Championship as he looks up the ramp at Ruiz. “Bamboleo” fades and Carlos brings a microphone up to his mouth.
“Señor Shujin! Congratulation on big victory tonight! Si, you keep Campeonado Premier American and now you get to fight with Carlos Ruiz! Bueno, Carlos will be ready for you when we fight. I always ready no matter who I am fighting with. You may be bigger very much than I am, but that never matter to Carlos Ruiz! I was not scared when we fight in battle royal at the Slam-A-Thon show a few month back. I not going to be scared now!”
The crowd cheers loudly as Shujin continues to stare at Carlos at the top of the ramp.
“But even if referee not see what happen, Carlos did see it. I see you hit Señor Freddie down low in illegal manner! I want to make sure that you know that I see this because I not allow you to cheat when you get into the ring with me. There is saying in fútbol Americano where they say that the ball does not lie. Well, this is kind of like that. You are going to come to terms with your cheating of Señor Freddie when karma is on my side when we fight! You are going to lose Campeonado Premier American because of the fact that you cheat here tonight! But Carlos is not going to rely on karma to help me to defeat you. No. Carlos is going to defeat you, Señor Shujin, because I am going to prove that I am better than you!”
More cheers from the crowd as chants of “CARLOS! CARLOS! CARLOS!” break out. Carlos smiles as he continues on.
“There is nothing in the universe that will stop me from defeating you because Carlos is most driven that I ever have been in my career. I have been doing this in America for over four year now. The wrestling in España is different very much from the wrestling here, but I have been successful ever since I move to United States. Carlos win many campeonatos because I have one thing that no one has been able to stop: the willpower to be best in the entire world! When we step into the ring, it is going to be my drive and desire that will carry me through in defeating you for the uno, dos, tres. When you are looking up at ceiling of the Arena Clásica and you hear Señor Robbins say that Carlos Ruiz is new Campeon Premier American, you are going to find out that I am everything that I always say that I am: this is that I am the best in the world! This is something that I can promise you, Señor Shujin! VIVA LA LUCHA!”
“Bamboleo” begins to play again and the crowd erupts for Carlos. He blows some kisses to the crowd. The sounds of “Bamboleo” fades into “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie. The song plays for a few seconds before…
Carlos wakes up. He rubs some sleep out of his eyes as “Endless Love” continues to play. He looks over on the end table next to his bed and grabs his iPhone, seeing a familiar name and picture pop up on the screen. He smiles and slides the bar to answer the phone call.
“Señorita Iggy! It is so lovely to hear from you. I just have incredible dream about my next fight with Señor Shujin Yama. I promise to you, Señorita Iggy, that I will win Campeonado Premier American and I going to fly to you and we will celebrate together with the fine Spanish wine!”
Carlos continues his phone conversation with his old friend as we fade out.
