He looks up, just staring. After a moment, he throws a finger up as to say “pause” before turning around a bit. We see him pull something out of his pocket, tilt his head back and drop what appears to be Visine into his eyes, before tossing it away and turning back.
‘Tears’ roll down his cheeks. He clears his throat.
BROADWAY: When I.. Ricky Broadway, The Exceptional One, signed on the dotted line of Classic Wrestling the world rejoiced! Finally.. true talent would be coming to perform on the… well, mediocre stage, that they provide.
He smirks a bit.
BROADWAY: But being the performer I am, being in such high demand, and because they REFUSED to get me an assistant… I sadly missed my first booking date.
A brief pause.
BROADWAY: Ok, ok.. so I missed the first two dates they gave me. How can you expect a STAR like me to drop everything to remember the little people?
He scoffs.
BROADWAY: But to have a letter of termination sent to my penthouse? The audacity! The injustice! To be honest.. it’s just quite RUDE!
He shakes his head in disappointment.
BROADWAY: But I am a man of the people! I am here to PERFORM for the dozens of Classic fans! I just need you to do the right thing…
He moves from sitting on the stool to standing.
BROADWAY: Reverse the decision and reactivate my contract! I mean, come on.. do you not want to finally have a real draw at you events? A grade A superstar? A talent like no other?!
As he speaks, he raises an arm very theatrically before lowering it back down.
BROADWAY: Here is my only plead Classic Wrestling… give me another chance and I will ensure that your name is sung far and wide across the globe as the only place to feature the superstar himself… That’s me… Ricky Broadway.
He smiles a crooked smile.
