The abrasive scrape of hagoromo against a green wall-length distributor of information of form both obtuse and otherwise illuminates the darkness.
“So, as we can see here, as the object passes over the event horizon, we can trace a path past the inner horizon through the inner anti-horizon, we will arrive exiting at a white hole and into a new universe.”
The man standing at the blackboard was prototypical of what you would expect from a physics professor. An immaculately drawn Penrose diagram detailing the movement of some hypothetical particle through a variety of theoretical subspaces. Mildly disheveled, unshaven, and with a look of a true believer in his eye and this may more than anything explain why he wasn’t put off by a very small man with a painted face scribbling hurriedly as though and this is true his life may depend upon it.
The other man cloaked and masked stood a respectful distance from the professor who traced the particle back to presumably what you can trust as this universe. The Professor turned to the motley crew assembled in his space. The interference waves easily traced on a moire diagram that was the spoken word of Lord Colossus issued forth as though Schwarzschild radius of the man was slowly drawing all information to him.
“Then, as Vito Valentino passed towards and through the void, his particulate matter was able to avoid the singularity returning unscathed to our reality through anti-parallels?”
The Professor absently waved his chalk at him.
“Yes yes. It is all quite elementary if you observe the Penrose Diagram. It is quite natural for a particle to pass from black, to white, from inner horizon to parallel antihorizons. Naturally, you may think of this as a theoretic wormhole constructed between our reality and a parallel reality wherein the black hole merely sends the particles and their data from one spot to the same spot in an opposite trajectory!”
His scribbling and his voice raise as excitement bubbles over. Lord Colossus’ arms cross a mass of muscles and gravity.
“My Lord. You see, it IS possible to escape the void.”
Walt Whezl who of late has been busy with business in parts unknown, jibbers excitedly. TOO excitedly. Lord Colossus looks at his minion, with the barest glance. His head-turning toward and down is almost imperceptible.
“Scribe. Fool.”
The professor whose gesticulations, are now drawing the various shapes of space that would be necessary to deal with the realities he is describing.
“And so, fool, we return to the reality where the impossible has happened. Where the event horizon was crossed and the quantum needle threaded. The Void has been rent asunder.”
Lord Colossus pauses, Arms still crossed across a cloak of vantablack.
“And we return full circle. To the wild heart. To Ruiz. History and Fate ensure that the binary dance that Kilgore and myself continue, but the three-body problem begins anew, with Carlos Ruiz taking up the newest and least gravitationally important satellite.
Lurking in the distances of unlight, Carlos Ruiz has awaited his return. Freddy Kilgore has stood before the void and been judged wanting before. But this new information, these parallel and antihorizons. They give me pause. We all surrender to entropy. We all look before the toothless maw, gnashing all information, we know it for the end.
But if Vito Valentino can escape. Where none have before. The scribe bears witness.”
Whezl continues to scribble as though in religious fervor.
“Then the possibility of more particulate matter escaping the void remains. Contingencies against special relativity must be constructed.
The void must feed.
The void must maul reality.
For mine hunger and the hunger of the void must be satisfied.”
The Professor pauses in his diagram turning to face his “class”.
“But as we see here, even if a particle can escape the singularity itself, under these rare and specific conditions, the particle loses so much mass and energy as to become inert. As an analogy consider pulling a rope through a too-small eyelet, the rope can be forced through but becomes weaker as its strands separate. Though the particle survives and this is given via Feynman’s methodology, we see that the particle itself is weakened.
Naturally further interactions with black holes and other gravitational stimuli will further reduce the mass and interactive force of the particle. Given enough time, it will be reduced to its quarks!”
The Lord Colossus loomed just then. Arms uncrossing, massive arms spreading wide. A roar followed.
Black.
